So, while Dr Nolan and DC Hana Li are on their way to Beijing, her younger sister and investigative journalist, Jess, visits a high-ranking policeman named Simon who is tied to the case.

During their meeting, he is called away from his desk by a colleague and, um, leaves his computer unlocked around a reporter. So, of course, Jess has a look through it to get some confidential information before quickly leaving.

Fans of the series were quick to point this out on social media, taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts. "I’m a high ranking police officer so I’ll leave the room with a reporter alone and my PC logged on," wrote one viewer.

"All of these people working in senior positions for MI5 and the police service and not one of them know how to lock their screens when they leave their desks?" another wrote. "Boss of a police department doesn’t lock his computer screen…," shared another.

Yeah, a bit unrealistic, if you ask us!

Red Eye continues on ITV1.
